Relaxing Weekend

Hey again! Things are going so well for all of us. Heather and I spent most of the weekend trying to catch up on sleep and get shopping and errands done. I’m so thankful that Caleb is an easy-going baby. We haven’t ever really had him on a schedule during the weekends, and he doesn’t seem any worse for it. He’s just a happy baby… at least 95% of the time.

Today he’s spending the day at his future daycare. He gets to play with other kids his age which I think will be a great thing. I just hope we haven’t spoiled him with so much attention that he gets jealous.

Sadly, there hasn’t been anything big to talk about. The next comic is still sitting on my desk at home. All I can say is someday… hehehe.

Oh, not that it’s a big event… but Caleb is officially 6 months old (as of Friday). It amazes me that he’s as big as many one year olds… and I have to keep reminding people that he’s only 6 months. Even the daycare people expected him to be doing some tasks of a 9-12 month old already. His next big milestones will be crawling and sitting up unassisted. He’s showing signs of both (especially sitting up) but he usually gets distracted and falls over (both crawling and sitting up). We haven’t rushed him on either activity… it’s just so cute to watch him slowly roll over. It’s like a slow motion fall… usually involving a toy, slobber, and giggling.

If you’ve read this far, I’d like to ask your advice on something. Heather and I are very bad about getting “Thank You” notes out. When it’s just one or two, it’s easy to knock them out quickly, but we have several that are outstanding from gifts received since Caleb was born. My question is, how long before you’ve waited too long to send a thank you? It’s times like this I wish I was more like my sister Chris. She’s the most organized person I know, I don’t know where she gets it from. The rest of my family (including me) are very laid back when it comes to organization. And while Heather used to be very organized… I pulled her to the darkside.

*DARTH VADER VOICE – WITH HEAVY BREATHING*
Heather, I am your husband now! Give in to the darkside! Be at one with the clutter.
*END DARTH VADER VOICE*

I’ll start preparing my Oscar acceptance speech for that roll right away… once I’m done with the thank you notes.
And by the way, I do feel guilty that I’m not more organized, but it’s just so easy to NOT be.
