sorry about the lack

December 21st, 2005

The lack of posts, images, and comics has come to an end. As I speak, I’m remotely logged into the home computer and uploading several pictures that Gamma Lorie took recently. When I get home tonight… I’ve got several more that are sitting on our digital camera as well.

All of that, plus I’ve got a new comic that should be up in just a bit. Not REALLY funny, but I’m still trying to figure out my comic timing. Everyone says I can make them laugh when they read these posts. I never realized how hard it is to translate that into a 4 panel format.
I have a new respect for syndicated comic artists. Except for that guys who do Family Circus and Ziggy. I don’t think I’ve laughed at either of those comics since I was 5.

So… the house is semi-decorated for Christmas. We have a beautiful tree in the front window, which I’m proud to say only cost me $25. We have a wreath on the front door, and we plan on putting candles in all the windows. I never got to doing the lights along the gutter, but I guess we have to leave something to strive for next year. I’m hoping the landscape lighting will be in by then too… making the whole house much more attractive to look at from the road.

Oh, I meant to get the invitations out yesterday… so if you haven’t heard yet and you read this website, Caleb’s dedication is going to be on January 1st. I hope everyone can make it. The invites WILL be going out as soon as possible (along with the Christmas cards). I look forward to having lots of family and friends join in the celebration.

On a personal note, I think I’m on the brink of getting myself into an organizational groove. Funny coming from the guy who hasn’t gotten the Christmas cards out yet, hasn’t gotten the dedication invites out yet… and who has about 30 stacks of papers all over the office floor. However, I say that because this is the first time I’ve actually WANTED to get everything in order and not procrastinate.

Don’t get me wrong… I’m still procrastinating (a bit)… but the difference is that I don’t WANT to be. If I had a therapist, they’d say I’m making “marked progress”. Since I don’t have one… you’ll have to take my word on it. I have a goal to get the office organized by year end (the week off after christmas will help that quite a bit). I also have grand plans of trimming/hacking the overgrown bushes back, and of getting all the leaves up off the street (where they’ve been sitting since I blew them off my drive and yard). Oh, and there’s the door to Caleb’s nursery to prime and paint… and the cabinet door that had to be repaired, and the garage to clean, and… and I think I just realized why I procrastinate so much… it’s easier than trying to get this list of things done!

Wish me luck. Check back to see the new photos and comic which should be up today.

Ch-Ch-Changes

December 8th, 2005

As you can see, the site has changed a bit. The comic is at the top of the page now and will hopefully be updated on a fairly regular schedule. Things are crazy at the house. We’ve got SO many items on our “To Do” list. Thankfully, this weekend will be the first time in a LONG time that we will actually not have anything scheduled for the weekend. We get to stay home and work around the house! I never thought I’d be happy to say those words?!?

Personally, my mission outdoors is to get the leaves bagged and gone, trim some bushes that are as big as trees, and get the christmas lights up. Our house looks very “Scrooge” compared to our neighboring homes right now.

Caleb is doing great. He keeps us laughing with everything he does. He always looks like he could take on the world, if only he could crawl. It won’t be long before he’s crawling, walking, talking, driving, dating… err… let’s not get ahead of ourselves!

I’ll probably have a new comic up tonight or tomorrow. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do making them.

December?!?! Already?!?!?!

December 2nd, 2005

Isn’t it wonderful when a day flies by… no so with a month.

So the real quesion is… where did November GO?!

A quick update for those who don’t see us very often. Heather, Caleb and I are all doing well. Everyone is healthy and happy. Caleb continues to grow and change daily. He is just starting to eat rice cereal now (we add it to his formula), and he can sit up by himself (for short periods of time). It’s hard to believe that he’s 4 and 1/2 months old. When his cousins were down recently, we stood him up next to Payton and he came up to her nose. It won’t be long before he outgrows both of them.

Not much has changed for Heather and me. Thanks to wonderful friends and family, we’ve been able to go out for dinner and a movie a few nights. We’re so thankful for everyone who helps keep us sane.

Wow… look at the time, another day gone by (it’s 7 PM now) and I’ve got to get home. I really do want to have this site update weekly if not daily… so please keep coming back to check things out. Oh, and more photos will be going up (and more often) now that we have a digital card reader at the house.

See you soon!
