In those days, visitors from the Far East came to see the child.
Well, not really FAR East… but Augusta IS a couple hours drive. Aunt Sandy and Uncle Paul are in town today and we’re meeting up with them for lunch. That means that Caleb gets to go out and about again. Now that he’s one month old (I can’t believe it either!) we aren’t so worried about taking him to public places. Most of the articles/advice/doctor’s info we’ve gotten say that one month is a good time to wait before taking baby out in public. My biggest fear now is that he’ll have a screaming fit in the middle of the restaurant.
Things have been great for the most part this week. Caleb was doing so well on his late night feedings, falling right back to sleep after eating. However, last night he had a “I’m crying for no reason” fit that lasted 2 hours. Once we got him calmed down enough, he ate a little and was much more relaxed. The only logical reason for the crying seems to be his tummy, but we’re giving him everything we can to help with tummy problems. I have had one suggestion that burbon helps put a baby to sleep… but I don’t see how ME getting drunk is supposed to help Caleb.
In related semi-humor, a co-worker suggested I get a t-shirt for Caleb. I don’t know how well it would go over with family and friends though… it says “Daddy Drinks Because I Cry”.
