Caffeine Free Day 2

March 31st, 2005

I read web comics. I read them daily. And sometimes one sticks with me. I’ve been caffeine free since Tuesday, and I blame it on a web comic. A main caracter gave up coffee, and it sounded like a good idea at the time. While I feel like I’m thinking clearer… and being more productive at work, I think I hit the wall about 3 PM today. I found myself with my head against a monitor… snoring!

Snoring, in case you haven’t had the pleasure, is something I have personally mastered. I am an aficionado of snoring. It is a fine wine that I consume on a nightly basis… and at jet plane level decibels. So you can see why it might be a problem that a jet plane landed in my cubicle at around 3 PM today. Luckily, my neighbors were all in a meeting at the time, so I got away with it… this time.

Oh, I got the site updated even more… and I’m very happy with the initial look of this change. I hope to fine tune it later.

Website Updates and Prayer Request

March 30th, 2005

Well, I tell ya what! This blogging stuff is harder than it looks! But today I finally got done with some code tweaking that I’d been wanting to do. Site looks much better in my opinion.

Now then, we’ve been pretty busy around the Lawrence home. Easter weekend we went to Signal Mountain to see our nephew and niece baptized/christened. It was a beautiful day, made even better by all the family being there together. Even Nannie Lou made it down. Now that we are back home, we’ll be finishing up a lot of projects that we’ve left unfinished. The nursery being one of the big ones. When we first moved in, we picked a very beautiful shade of yellow for the 2nd guest room. Now that it’s going to be a nursery, we’ve decided that yellow isn’t the right color (rumor has it that yellow walls make for a grumpy baby). So Heather has a great idea for bringing together all the colors that we plan on using. It should make for a very cool room.

If you are reading this on or around March 30th, I’d appreciate your prayers for a dear friend of ours… Ellen. Ellen has fought a hard battle against cancer, and unfortunately things have gotten pretty bad. Today she has been moved from the hospital to a hospice, and she isn’t expected to make it for very long. Please pray for God’s will to be done and for His glorification through Ellen’s life. She is an example of wonderful faith. Also please pray for her husband and children in this hard time. And just because I’m selfish, I’ll still be praying for a miracle of healing… because I know it is within His power.

Wow, so many things have been going through my head as I write this post, but I’ll save them for another day. Be sure to check out the gallery, we added several more pictures of the last sonogram.
